Improve Your Poker Game. Attend Ante Up's H.O.R.S.E. Course Jan. 31.
Clearwater, FL, December 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- While no-limit hold'em is still top dog in poker rooms, H.O.R.S.E. is quickly gaining popularity thanks to the $50,000 buy-in championship at the World Series of Poker.
So to help introduce Floridians to the five-game rotation, Ante Up Magazine has announced its first Ante Up H.O.R.S.E. Course for Jan. 31 at Sarasota Kennel Club's One-Eyed Jacks poker room in Sarasota, Fla.
"Ante Up has long been proud of introducing its fans to different poker games on its Ante Up podcast," said Scott Long, who publishes Ante Up with Christopher Cosenza. "And now, we're very excited to bring that instruction to a live setting."
H.O.R.S.E. is a five-game rotation consisting of hold'em, Omaha/8, razz, stud and stud/8. It's played with a limit structure, and the variety is a true test of a poker player's ability, most pros say.
"H.O.R.S.E. really keeps you focused," Cosenza said. "The different games and strategies really make you feel like you're getting your money's worth. And what's great about this seminar is you can learn so much in just a few hours. If you don't have the time to commit to a whole weekend for a camp, this is perfect for you."
The course is a one-day event, with nearly four hours of instruction and practice, followed by the opportunity to play in the 1 p.m. satellite for the Feb. 13 H.O.R.S.E. tournament at One-Eyed Jacks. Or participants can hone their new skills in H.O.R.S.E. cash games.
The $249 tuition includes all instruction, an $85 tournament voucher, instruction manual, gift bag, continental breakfast, lunch, Ante Up T-shirt and raffle prizes.
Tampa pro/WSOP Circuit champ John Racener will be a special instructor and Lon McEachern, half of ESPN's World Series of Poker commentating duo, is one of the special guests expected to attend.
"We believe this is a value-packed, affordable way to learn these great games, and are looking forward to taking the H.O.R.S.E. Course to other poker rooms around the state very soon," Long said.
Sponsorships are also available for businesses wishing to expose their products or services to poker players in an intimate setting.
