Qifang Named China's First World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer

Qifang recognized for innovative online student loan technology; honored for impact on business and society.

Chengdu, China, December 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The World Economic Forum announced today that online student loan company Qifang has been selected as one of its Technology Pioneers 2009. After a review of hundreds of companies by a panel of 44 global technology experts, Qifang becomes China's first company ever to receive this prestigious honor.

Qifang's innovative online student loan and education finance service pairs Chinese students with funding from banks, hiring companies and individuals. The WEF recognized the company's breakthrough technology and ability to improve the efficiency and transparency of how students obtain education funding, schools administer financial aid, and companies and individuals sponsor education. As the World Economic Forum and its members are committed to 'improving the state of the world,' so is Qifang.

2009 marks the tenth anniversary of the Technology Pioneers program that recognizes accomplishments in innovative technologies that have deep business and social impact. Qifang joins previous Technology Pioneers including Google, Infosys, Mozilla and Wikimedia.
