Multicultural Marketing Firm Hosts Weekly Online Talk Show Highlighting Disability Community

With the goal of bringing added awareness to the various issues impacting the disability community, and positively highlighting the amazing people who are part of it, NFS Communications and Publishing, Inc., a multicultural marketing firm, has begun hosting a weekly on-line radio talk show. "Exceptional People, Exceptional Lifestyles," features guests wanting to share information about the people, products, programs and services supporting the disability community.

Decatur, GA, December 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Long overlooked as the powerful, influential and significant part of the nation’s multicultural mosaic that it is, the disability community is beginning to come to the forefront of national awareness. However, according to a disability community-focused marketing firm, there is still much to be learned and shared.

NFS Communications and Publishing, Inc., a multicultural marketing firm that specializes in reaching the disability and African American consumer segments, recently began an online radio talk show to try to fill some of the gaps of information, sharing personal stories from both communities. However, shows will not be exclusive to just those two multicultural consumer segments or cultures.

The "Exceptional People, Exceptional Lifestyles," online talk radio show began airing weekly in October--National Disability Awareness Month, on blogtalkradio.com. The show is hosted by Norma Stanley, president/CEO of NFS Communications and Publishing, and focuses primarily on sharing news about the two largest minority populations in the nation. The disability community is comprised of more than 50 million people, and the African American community has more than 30 million people.

“As the mother of a daughter with physical and mental challenges, who looks forward to my daughter exceeding and excelling in her life despite her challenges, I wanted to learn more about people with like challenges who are also doing extraordinary things” said Stanley, who is also the author of “The Elected Lady—Finding Victory in the Challenge,” an inspirational book for and about mothers of special needs children. "As a multicultural marketing professional, research has shown that the Black community is the largest segment of the disability community, and they have their own unique stories and experiences to share, when it comes to families managing disabilities," she said.

The “Exceptional People, Exceptional Lifestyles” radio show has been airing weekly on Fridays at 6:30p.m. on BlogTalkRadio, the leading online social radio network. The live call-in talk show not only shares information and profiles people of interest to those who care about the needs within the disability community, but also shares features about those who are making major impact and achieving amazing things throughout the nation's general multicultural community.

“Our guests come from across the nation, sharing news and information from various aspects of life," said Stanley, also a journalist and author of "The Elected Lady--Finding Victory in the Challenge," an inspirational book for and about mothers of special needs children. “Topics on previously aired shows, have shared information about autism and nutrition with author, Susan DeLaine, who wrote "Balancing the Bowl," and Ruth Elaine Hane, a board member of The Austism Society and someone successfully managing autism as an adult.," continued Stanley. "Other shows have shared the importance of respite services for worn out caregivers, how corporate citizens are supporting the disability community through their products, services, sponsorships, a feature about Disaboom, the nations largest website for the disability community, among others," she said.

Some well known persohality profiles that have already aired have featured NBC's "Last Comic Standing" winner and popular comedian Josh Blue, who has succeeded despite cerebral palsy, repeat Gold-winning Olympic paralympian, Curtis Lovejoy.

Stanley says topics to be explored on the show in 2009 will cover issues such as overcoming challenges of keeping love relationships strong while raising children with disabilities; agendas President-Elect Obama’s administration will into effect for disability community, and whatever's new and interesting surrounding the emerging community of 56 million people.

"We will also continue profiling amazing people across the nation who are making major differences within the nation's multicultural disability community, as well as others across the nation," Stanley said. "We share with listening audiences interesting stories about issues everyone can relate to, about people they may or may not know who all have their own stories to tell.”

“Exceptional People, Exceptional Lifestyles” show airs Friday evenings at 6:30p.m., on www.blogtalkradio.com/norma-stanley. For more information or to book guests, email Norma Stanley at nstanley@nfscommwriter.com.
