New Program Seeks to End Nursing Shortage and Improve Real Estate Values in US
Syosset, NY, December 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- President Lisa Pamintuan of New York College of Health Professions (www.nycollege.edu) announced today that the institution has signed Letters of Intent to move forward on Joint Programs with XinXiang Medical University and Luo Yang Health School in the People’s Republic of China. New York College, an institutionally accredited institution offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs, is a world leader in Holistic Health.
These Letters follow a formal visit by Marion Spector, Chief Nursing Advisor, and Dr. Ali Song, Dean, People’s Republic of China Affairs, on behalf of New York College to strengthen relationships between the College and Colleges, Universities and Medical Centers in China. Specifically to develop programs for both bringing Chinese nursing students and other health professionals to the United States, as well as having students from New York College of Health Professions take courses at those facilities.
New York College of Health Professions already owns a 35 acre facility in Lou Yang, PRC, and with these additions will begin to create a foundation for more international programs.
“In particular the Chinese schools are graduating more nurses than they can place within their own country, while the United States has a shortage of nurses. This differential amounts to hundreds of thousands of nurses that are overproduced in China and are needed in the United States,” says Pamintuan. Donald Spector, Chairman of New York College elaborates, “New York College can offer a program of assimilation and immersion for Chinese nurses who can assist our elderly populations while studying to sit for their RN license in the US and a Certification from New York College. The program also has important ancillary benefits as the College expects to create small Chinatown communities in various parts of the country as well as small College towns through the influx of these health care professionals. The People’s Republic of China has many wealthy businessmen who are looking for a place to retire in the United States. Developing a large enough cohort group will make this a possibility. We believe this will increase the value of housing in the areas where we will be initiating programs, including Florida, California and other parts of the Country. We have filed patents on our system of combining our educational programs with real estate development and auxiliary health care to the community as well as developing specific new social communities.”

As part of the larger research project the College is in talks to market and develop the products of the legendary Shaolin Temple, the home of Kung Fu along with the mastery of other holistic health forms, from the Monks in Henan.
