AsiaXPAT, the leading resource for professionals, expats and executives in Asia, is calling for nominations for the inaugural Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the Year Award 2009.
Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., December 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- With the theme ‘Giving Back to the Community’, the Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the Year award is designed to recognize outstanding contributions to society from individuals living in Hong Kong, while supporting a grass-roots Asian charity, the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF).
Rewarding six main ways that nominees have been giving back to the community, the award will accept nominations for outstanding contributions in the areas of Volunteering, Giving, Fundraising, Caring in the Workplace, Mentoring and Caring for the Environment.
The final Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the year will be announced on Saturday 23 May 2009 at the Mongolian-themed AsiaXPAT of the Year 2009 ball at the JW Marriott Hotel in Admiralty.
AsiaXPAT.com Limited Managing Director, Mr. Paul Luciw said the Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the Year award enabled AsiaXPAT to thank its loyal community of users and give back to the Asian community itself through the extraordinary work of CNCF.
“Since its inception in 1999, AsiaXPAT has grown into a diverse community with more than half a million expat and local professionals and executives in Asia. We are very excited to be able to recognise the outstanding members of our Hong Kong community and the enormous amount of giving back to the community that they do.
“AsiaXPAT is also very pleased to be able to raise awareness of the good work the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation do in Asia, as well as support the Foundation financially through fundraising at the Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the Year ball in May 2009,” Mr. Luciw added.
CNCF Hong Kong Chairman, Ms Melissa Wood, said the Foundation was very grateful for the support of AsiaXPAT, with the ball providing a timely opportunity for Hong Kong professionals to make a difference to the lives of street children.
“Thousands of children in Vietnam and Mongolia face every day without clean water, adequate food, shelter and education. CNCF helps provide these children with the basic necessities of life, as well as the love and respect that they deserve.
“CNCF is extremely appreciative of AsiaXPAT’s ongoing support and cooperation and all the CNCF Hong Kong team look forward to a fantastic Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the Year 2009 celebration on the 23 May,” Ms Wood added.
Nominations will commence on Tuesday 11 November 2008, with the deadline for all nominations 9 March 2009. Nominees must be residents of Hong Kong aged 18 years or over and all candidates must be nominated by a third party.
Award finalists will be invited to attend the Mongolian-themed Hong Kong AsiaXPAT of the Year 2009 ball on Saturday 23 May 2009 at the JW Marriott Hotel, Hong Kong, with the winner to be announced on the night.
