Paint the Mic; a Poems & Pictures Event
New York, NY, December 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Ceiba Collective builds its name with a striking first event. Paint The Mic is a perfect portrait of poetic art where poets and painters work in collaboration, bringing a new perspective to visual art through poetry and prose.
Paint The Mic will take place on Monday January 5, 2009 at 7 PM at La Pregunta Arts Café located on 1528 Amsterdam Ave. New York, NY 10031.
"It's a unique artistic event" said Mena Badros, Ceiba's Director of Marketing, "because it brings together different forms of art to create one vision. It really allows for free expression of the arts community.”
The event will feature artists such as slam poet and Actors Studio candidate Michael Robles, also known as Goya, visual artists Frank Brenes and Lorisse Bentine, and many other talented artists. Through the efforts of Ceiba Collective, these artists will be given the opportunity to showcase their works and artistic passion.
Tickets will be sold at the door for only $5. Each audience member will receive a free raffle ticket along with their entrance ticket. At the conclusion of the event, Ceiba Collective will raffle off a brand new piece of art.
About Ceiba: Ceiba is an artist collective that empowers and supports the freedom, creativity and self-expression of the fine arts community through unifying committed talent, networking resources and providing opportunities for artist's projects to powerfully impact and expand the spiritual and intellectual consciousness of its audiences.
