Colfax Servers Boost Performance and Energy-Efficiency with New Quad-Core A.M.D. Opteron™ Processors
Sunnyvale, CA, January 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Colfax International, a leading provider of fully customizable, high-performance enterprise computing solutions, today enhanced its lineup of multi-core-based servers and workstations built to provide significantly better performance-per-watt.
Based on the new Quad-Core A.M.D. Opteron™ processor, which is built on 45nm process technology, the enhanced Colfax CX Series systems deliver greater energy efficiency, improved functionality and increased capabilities without altering existing IT infrastructure.
The new Quad-Core A.M.D. Opteron processor will also be immediately available with Colfax Quiet Compute Cluster (QCC) – an innovative system with breakthrough noise-canceling technology to foster noise-free workgroup and departmental clustering. Colfax QCC brings high-performance computing (HPC) to office and lab environments, providing customers access to quiet supercomputing power to handle larger and more complex compute-intensive workloads outside of the data center, reduce design and development cycles, and drive new levels of innovation and productivity.
“Colfax is committed to building a portfolio of solutions focused on addressing our customers’ increasing demands for energy-efficient computing and investment protection,” said Mike Fay, Vice President, Colfax International. “Colfax has one of the largest A.M.D. Opteron-processor based server portfolios in the industry, and the new Quad-Core A.M.D. Opteron processors further amplify the performance-per-watt leadership provided by our server solutions.”
“AMD is pleased to join Colfax International in its vision to deliver the latest technology to help its customers reach new levels of performance," said John Fruehe, director, Server and Workstation Division, AMD. “Colfax platforms powered by enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors with AMD’s Direct Connect Architecture help benefit enterprises and compute-intensive environments that require accelerated business and research outcomes."
