Leading Pediatric AIDS Organization Receives Christmas Donation of Video Conferencing from BrightCom
BrightCom Video Conference Solutions Unites Pediatric AIDS Operations in USA and Africa.
Huntington Beach, CA, December 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- BrightCom™, the performance leader in integrated conferencing solutions, announced today the donation of its ClearView Conference Room solutions and Visual Collaboration System 2.0 to aid the global health efforts of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF).
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and eradicating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and global prevention and treatment programs. With operations in 18 countries, the Foundation needed a solution to improve communication among offices around the world. Seeking to break down the limitations of geographic barriers, the Foundation chose BrightCom's video conferencing solution to bring together researchers, doctors, lobbyists, government officials, and affected families to further its efforts against HIV and pediatric AIDS.
BrightCom will be deploying its ClearView Conference Room 2000 in the Foundation’s US locations in mid-January 2009. By February, staff members and partners in the African offices with sufficient bandwidth will be able to log in to BrightCom’s online interface via laptops or other mobile devices to receive and collaborate on video and data being broadcast from Los Angeles and Washington, DC. Through the data functionality of BrightCom’s Visual Collaboration System 2.0, all locations will be able to electronically mark-up data including images, documents, and presentations, allowing for easier collaboration. In the same interface, each location can broadcast video back and forth, enabling effective face-to-face communication.
“One of the Foundation’s biggest challenges is effectively communicating among our globally-dispersed staff,” said Carlos Carrazana, Chief Operating Officer of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. “We are grateful for BrightCom’s generosity and look forward to using its video conferencing equipment to help virtually unify the EGPAF team.”
“It is a privilege for BrightCom to be selected by the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, who has been and continues to be a pioneer in the fight against one of the largest threats to humanity today,” said Bob McCandless, CEO of BrightCom. “We believe our integrated video and data conferencing solutions can truly unite all the efforts of the Foundation as it works to prevent and treat HIV and pediatric AIDS. We look forward to working closely with our new friends as they move the world toward a better tomorrow.”
BrightCom and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will work together in the New Year to deploy BrightCom video conferencing systems across the country.
