Seward Incorporated presents on this training and capacity-building project.
Minneapolis, MN, December 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Greg Sales (President and CEO, Seward Inc.) will present at the 2nd Annual Forum on e-Learning Excellence in the Middle East (http://elexforum.etqm.ae/index.aspx), to take place January 26-29, 2009 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Forum will feature speakers, discussion, and workshops for educators, researchers, and e-Learning professionals from around the world. The theme of this year’s forum is “Inspire, Innovate, Initiate, Impact.”
Sales will present on two papers related to Seward Incorporated’s recent Oman Online Teacher Training (OOTT) Project: “The Oman Online Teacher Training Project: A Case Study ” and “Building Capacity for Oman’s Online Teacher Training.” Fathiya Al-Rahbi and Hilal O. Al-Siyabi will co-present these papers with Sales. These papers focus on the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and the Omani Ministry of Education (MOE). OOTT involved a 17-month pilot project of the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of e-Learning to train grade-11 teachers of math, science, and English. One fundamental goal of the project was to build capacity within Oman’s MOE for future online training. The presentations will describe the goals and outcomes of this international partnership, and valuable lessons that were learned through this challenging project.
Sales will also present his paper, "Preparing Teachers to Teach Online," which provides background on the use of technology in education, research on approaches to professional development, and specific information on the competencies required to be an effective online teacher. He will present a model for teacher professional development related to information and communication technology.
Greg Sales has been designing and developing technology-based training for nearly 30 years. He has applied his e-Learning expertise for a variety of clients including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and universities. In addition to recommending customized training solutions, Greg provides consultation on the development of comprehensive e-Learning strategies to organizations seeking to improve training productivity while reducing costs.
