Data Builder Expands e-PCS Integration Engine
Des Moines, IA, June 16, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Data Builder, Inc., leading provider of data management solutions and services for the Building Industry, today announced additional features to their Data Builder e-PCS Integration Engine. Enhancements include expanded construction project management integration with Meridian’s Prolog in addition to email integration with Groupwise and Microsoft Outlook.
Working closely with each client’s IT department to ensure accurate, secure, and fast data integration, Data Builder e-PCS Integration Engine offers both seamless data transfer as well as instant on-demand integration. New integration highlights include:
- Project Directory – A nightly process accesses each project directory within Prolog and automatically updates each project’s contact information within e-PCS. Eliminating the need for duplicate entry, a project team member now has the project directory readily available whether they are working in e-PCS or Prolog.
- Daily Reports – New and updated construction daily reports are seamlessly printed from Prolog and automatically filed electronically into e-PCS for efficient access and retrieval. Superintendents and construction managers can now view reports anytime, anywhere. In addition, general contractors benefit from a consistent electronic daily report where historically it varied by the business unit and project.
- Subcontractor Folder – As new subcontractors and vendors are added to Prolog, project team members can create subcontractor folders directly in e-PCS by hitting the “Folder Sync” button for instant integration.
- Request for Information (RFI) & Change Log Item (CLI) backup folder sync – Similar to the subcontractor folder sync, a project team member can request e-PCS access new RFI or CLI information from Prolog to automatically generate corresponding data and folders within e-PCS.
- Email Integration – Important correspondence can be filed directly into e-PCS from popular email programs such as Microsoft Outlook and Groupwise with the new “Send to e-PCS” shortcut in the e-mail application tool bar. With this same click, attachments are also filed into e-PCS in their native format.
“Built for the field, by the field, e-PCS continues to bring enhanced business processes not only to the project jobsite, but also to a contractor’s non-operational departments,” said Scott Lombard, vice president of sales and marketing at Data Builder. “An ideal Enterprise Content Management (ECM) situation, the elasticity of the e-PCS Integration Engine affords general contractors a central repository for seamless integration with other workflow applications.”
Lombard continues, “Data Builder approaches each client as a partnership. We listen to our partners and let them tell us how they want their business to run and then tailor e-PCS to conform to their processes and best practices.” Customizable and flexible, e-PCS is an efficient tool that can used from day one of pre-construction, as well as through construction, project closeout, and retention management requirements.
