About the Author

Mohammad Ibn Ismael Es-Sudan was born in Harlem, New York. He is the only child of his mother, Mrs. Sylvia Silvera, (AKA: Mama Mahalath Es-Sudan), who lived and raised him in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. Mohammad acquired all of his education in Brooklyn’s Public School System, and graduated from G.W. Wingate, H.S., in 1960. He studied accounting and economics at Brooklyn College, and started his own part-time bookkeeping service in 1962.

During his employment at Time, Inc., (1962-66), he was befriended by his literary mentor, Jamil Malek. This talented playwright and journalist encouraged him to pursue his writing talents. He additionally asked Mohammad to join him in the Harlem Writers’ Guild Workshop, which he agreed to do. It was during this time that this author was able to have his first poem entitled ‘This Nation’ published in a small magazine called ‘African Opinion.’

Over the following ten years, Mohammad operated his own full-time accounting and income tax business, in New York City, and in 1972, he and his family relocated to Atlanta, GA where he continued his accounting career. He has since invented and developed a board game, (C.P.A. The Professional Accounting Game’ (C) 1998), that he expects to market soon.

Lastly, this novel is dedicated to the author’s family members, friends, and especially his late wife, who encouraged him to complete this project.
