The Boy Who Could Talk to Animals: New Children’s Book Teaches Respect for Animals, Mother Earth
Weert, Netherlands, January 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press author Lila Joseph releases her new children’s book, The Boy Who Could Talk to Animals. Aimed at kids between the ages of eight and twelve, this book delivers a powerful lesson about respecting the creatures with whom we share this planet. Joseph wants her message to influence the very people who can make an impact on our environment. “Our children will grow up to inherit stewardship of this planet and all the people, plants, and animals that live on it. Teaching them to respect Mother Earth at an early age reinforces that responsibility.”
In the colorfully illustrated pages of The Boy Who Could Talk to Animals, we meet Nick, a spirited and mischievous boy in search of adventure. He and his elfin friend Autumn Leaf are out of school for the summer and looking for fun, but too often it is at the expense of the forest animals in the woods where they play. One day Nick hatches a plan to sneak out of the house and camp in the nearby woods with Autumn Leaf. The boys are happy when their plan works, at least until Nick falls into a well and realizes he is in serious trouble. The woodland creatures Nick so carelessly mistreated must work together to rescue Nick, and in the process they teach him that we are all dependent on one another for survival. He is saved by the very animals he has always treated unkindly, and he never forgets this. Nick changes into a person who accepts responsibility for his actions and learns to respect nature in all its glory.
This is a book that reminds us all of our responsibility to be good stewards, and it is sure to capture the imagination of youngsters of all ages.
