Lori Cavanaugh, Official Photographer for Pawfriendly Landscapes, Opens Her Home for the Division of Wildlife to Help Capture a Wounded Doe in Kiowa

Denver, CO, December 30, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Lori Cavanaugh, official photographer for Pawfriendly Landscapes, and her husband, Jack Cavanaugh, have opened their Kiowa home for the Division Of Wildlife to help capture a wounded doe. The doe, nicknamed Miss. Doe by Lori, has been shot with a hunting arrow that has pierced her nose, neck and throat last week. Division of Wildlife has been using the Cavanaugh home to try to tranquilize the doe with a tranquilizer gun.

Lori and Jack will let the Division of Wildlife use their home until Miss. Doe has been captured. They have been set up in the Cavanaugh home since Friday.

"Lori called me on Friday to tell me of Miss. Doe's plight," says Elizabeth Bublitz, owner and author of Pawfriendly Landscapes." Elizabeth continues, "Lori, Jack and I are involved in so many animal rescues, we cannot help but open our hearts and homes to unwanted pets. It's ironic Lori and Jack would be in this situation because we just created a non charitable organization in memory of a Yorkshire terrier, BoBo, who was killed by his owner in Wheat Ridge, the organization is called BoBo's Legacy."

Elizabeth continues, "The goal (of BoBo's Legacy) is to stop animal abuse by starting a registry of names of people who have abused pets. If their name is on the registry, they cannot adopt another pet. Shelters, breeders and others will have access to the list. We also want to help animals in need whose owners cannot afford appropriate care for them. I'm sure Miss. Doe knew where to go for help and I'm sure she'll get it at Jack and Lori's house!"

The Division of Wildlife has instructed the couple to leave alfalfa, water and cracked corn in their birdbath in the front yard so she can eat comfortably without causing more problems to her wounds.

Division of Wildlife was able to shoot her twice with the tranquilizer gun in the hind areas but she was able to escape.

The Cavanaughs have set up a triage unit in their garage with blankets and carpet as well as having a local vet on stand by for Miss. Doe.

Lori Cavanaugh is a professional photographer of wildlife and companion animals. She gives some of her profits of her work to a non kill animal shelter in Elizabeth, Colorado called Hallcrest Kennels. For more information go to www.pawfriendlylandscapes.com or www.boboslegacy.com.
