Top Artists Celebrate the Spirit of Love in New Magazine
Publisher Stampington & Company releases 'Somerset in Love,' a new publication that explores 12 one-of-a-kind altered books with romantic themes.
Laguna Hills, CA, December 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- In honor of Valentine’s Day, eleven mixed-media artists embarked on a collaborative project that resulted in 12 one-of-a-kind altered books with a romantic theme. On January 1, 2009, Stampington & Company will release Somerset In Love, a publication that will explore this collaborative project through detailed photographs and articles contributed by the artists themselves.
This one-time, special issue will include 144 pages showcasing results of this unique, collaborative art project. While some are humorous, some passionate and others whimsical, each page reflects the essence of beauty and romance. A number of popular mixed-media techniques will be featured in Somerset In Love, such as painting, stitching, doodling, and collage. Notable artists include Marilyn Healey, Kim Kwan, Helle Greer, Teresa McFaden, and Kristen Robinson.
“When we discovered pages of this collaborative on Marilyn Healy’s blog, we knew we wanted to feature it in one of our publications. Little did we know that the 12 books would provide enough inspiration for a complete magazine,” says Stampington & Company’s Publisher and President, Kellene Giloff. “The imagery, unique treatments, and innovative techniques used in this artwork are amazing! There are enough ideas within this publication to keep artists and crafters inspired for months.”
Somerset In Love will be available beginning January 1, 2009 on newsstands in the “Craft & Hobby” section or directly from Stampington & Company at www.stampington.com or by calling 1-877-STAMPER.
