Heron Bay Golf and Country Club Offers Residents "Hidden Benefits"

Locust Grove, GA, January 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Being a resident of Heron Bay Golf and Country Club means enjoying state-of-the-art amenities exclusive to the large master-planned community. It also means enjoying fantastic special events and activities available only to homeowners. Heron Bay Golf and Country Club, a resort-style community in Locust Grove, Ga., which will ultimately be home to more than 2,000 residents, has an active social committee with a full-time Events/Activities Coordinator assigned to plan special events throughout the year for residents to connect with their neighbors in fun and exciting ways.

“Because of the size of the community, residents are able to enjoy an active Homeowners Association that provides plenty of opportunities for residents to interact with each other and have fun,” said Carla Cooper, Events/Activities Coordinator for the Heron Bay Community Association.

Most recently the Heron Bay Community Association hosted a grand opening event for the new Lakefront Park which more than 500 residents and their families attended. Other events hosted by the Events/Activities Coordinator and Social Committee throughout the past year include a business meet and greet, groovy 70’s party, Easter egg hunt, Sweetheart Soiree, holiday open house, community-wide garage sale,“Jazz by the Pool party” and much more.

In addition to events organized by the Social Committee and Events/Activities Coordinator, Canongate at Heron Bay hosts events for homeowners. Canongate at Heron Bay is a challenging 7,300-yard professionally designed 18-hole golf course winding through the community.

“Canongate provides not only an amazing golf course, but fun and excitement for the entire family,” said Sara Murton, Director of Membership at Canongate. “Families do not have to travel outside of the neighborhood to enjoy a night out. They can take advantage of the great food, recreation and events offered right here at Canongate.”

Just in the last year, Canongate has hosted events such as a “screen on the green” movie night, luaus, trivia nights and low country boils.

Heron Bay's homeowners definitely enjoy the opportunity for family-friendly fun right at home. “I moved to Heron Bay to be closer to my grandson and be able to spend time with him,” said Rick Fretwell, who lives in The Woodlands at Heron Bay. “These events are a fun thing to do with the family that we can do right here at home. It’s nice to be able to do that without having to leave the neighborhood. The events are always great and well-organized.”

Other homeowners attend the events as a way to spend time getting to know their neighbors better. “The events are always a fun opportunity to enjoy the company of my neighbors,” said Stacey Skipper, a resident of The Springs at Heron Bay.

“We want to make sure that residents of Heron Bay not only get a great home, but they also get a great lifestyle,” said Cooper. “We are constantly creating new events, so that residents can get to know their neighbors and spend time with their families in an enjoyable environment.”
