Macworld visitors will be the first to experience a pre-launch demonstration of the ATTO FastStream™ SC 8500 – the latest addition to its FastStream RAID storage controller line with 8Gb Fibre Channel connectivity to 3Gb SAS/SATA storage. The ATTO ExpressSAS R380 RAID Adapter for direct attached storage environments will also be demonstrated and ATTO’s complete product line will be showcased at booth 1543 during the show in San Francisco this week.
The ATTO FastStream SC 8500 demonstration shows an editing workflow of five streams of 10-bit uncompressed HD video in a RAID environment. FastStream SC 8500 offers RAID 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 protection using four 8-Gb Fibre Channel host interfaces and supports up to 128 3Gb SAS or SATA drives (or up to 8-16 drive JBOD enclosures) providing the highest available bandwidth for steaming applications. The demonstration will also feature the multipathing functionality of FastStream with advanced load balancing for high-availability storage environments. Additionally, visitors can see how the ATTO ExpressNAV™ browser-based storage management tool simplifies set up and management of storage infrastructures remotely. The FastStream offers best-of-class performance for shared environments with RAID parity and a scalable solution that allows for economical storage expansion with affordable SAS and SATA JBODs.
