The Next Generation of Interactive Fiction

TrueLore.com Launches User Generated Science Fiction Novel. An innovative new form of fiction, TrueLore is an interactive site where the story is created entirely by its members.

Westbury, NY, January 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- TrueLore.com is a user generated science fiction novel. In this story, the members take on the roles of self created characters, and the novel itself is produced based on the interactions between the various members of the site. The result is a constantly evolving storyline, with no beginning, and no end, whose scope is limited only by the collective imagination of the participants.

The premise of the tale is that magic, and mysticism, is real in a variety of ways and exists just beneath the veneer of everyday society. With this premise in place, the story itself is free to branch out in an infinite number of ways.

Those who visit the site are welcome to passively read about the adventures and stories of other members. However users are encouraged to actually join and create a character of their own, by filling out a brief questionnaire, and putting together a profile, which can be as detailed or sparse as they like.

Profiles are entirely public, and members can leave personalized messages for one another on a public “wall” feature. This constitutes the most basic, underlying plot level of the developing story.

In the forum the plot really gets going, with characters collaborating on long term elaborate stories, which can draw out over the course of weeks or months, and can involve hundreds of people at a time.

A chat room allows characters to interact in a more direct, fast paced manner. This is great for quickly resolving conflicts between various characters, or advancing complicated storylines in a quick and easy way.

The backbone of the site is a series of blogs, known as “Testimonies”. This feature allows members to tell their character’s personal tales in greater depth. In Testimonies, the character is basically in charge controlling the flow of the tale, but other members are still able to interact, to react, and to even take on roles within the story.

A prominent part of the site includes user generated pictures and videos. Most of this media is created by members themselves, who often stage elaborate events in order to add a more realistic element to the site. In fact it is the amateur aspect of the content which tends to make it seam more realistic, when compared with staged big money Hollywood productions.

http://www.TrueLore.com is completely open to join and participate in, and a quickly burgeoning world has already started to develop around a core of dedicated members. Some of the eclectic cast of characters that has developed thus far includes a charming Cajun Witch Doctor, a Demon Obsessed Necromancer, a hard drinking Dragon, and a flirty, yet timid Elf girl.
