Company to Deploy Energy-Positive Housing and Commercial Developments
Company combines solar thermal, other technologies with a novel business model to create a disruptive shift in the design rationale for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Cumberland, MD, January 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NetPLUS Concepts has combined solar thermal and other technologies with an innovative business model to create a disruptive shift in the way that residential, commercial and industrial properties are designed. This new “housing first” paradigm addresses the mortgage, energy and urban blight crises, empowering everyday homeowners and developers to achieve economic health by choosing building systems which produce sufficient energy to help pay for themselves in savings.
NetPLUS Concepts' goal is to achieve individual-structure energy independence in the United States, and even produce surplus electricity for sale to the utility grid. Attractive designs, modern amenities, enhanced levels of structural integrity and prices competitive with those of conventional structures are all central components of “The NetPLUS Concept”.
Co-Founder Ken DiPietro says, “According to Dr. Steven Chu, the US spends some $250 Billion per year importing energy. Over the next four years, then, we will likely spend more than a trillion dollars on foreign energy purchases with little hope that in so doing we can escape ongoing price volatility and supply shortfall problems. Instead, if a fraction of those dollars were invested to finance the deployment of technologies like ours the payback could be quick, fueled by the creation of a whole new industry filled with exciting employment opportunities.”
Co-Founder Ted Hatfield adds, “It will take vision, proactive legislation and innovative engineering to reinvigorate our economy and to drastically reduce our dependence on petroleum imports. We cannot meet 21st century challenges with a ‘That’s the way we’ve always done things’ mindset. Rather than continuing to build structures that merely use energy, NetPLUS Concepts believes that we should use the enabling technologies which are available and affordable today to build carbon-neutral structures that are energy self-sufficient and thus self-financing.”

NetPLUS Concepts was conceived in early 2008 by entrepreneurs Ken DiPietro and Ted Hatfield. The founders' research and experiments in various solar thermal technologies have resulted in an integrated suite of designs, materials and control mechanisms. Targeting single family and district heating / district cooling deployments, this intellectual property facilitates the construction of high quality, net energy positive homes and commercial buildings, hence “NetPLUS”.
