Rowland Heights, CA, January 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A Chinese-English book store for children has just expanded its line of Chinese language textbooks to accommodate the growing interest of American students in learning the language.

In the 2007 study of the Modern Language Association, it was found that 51,582 college students signed up to enroll in a Chinese course. Compared to 2002, there has been a 51% increase of students interested and taking Chinese language courses. It is also roughly estimated that another 50,000 are studying Chinese in high school and elementary grades.

ChildBook is an online bookstore that specializes in providing learn-Chinese materials. It currently has 6 textbook series that may be used by younger children, elementary grades to upper level students, including adults. All textbook series have several levels that will suit any student’s level and keep up with the growing proficiency in Chinese. The textbooks were carefully chosen to make learning Chinese more interesting and effective for students. Besides the exercise books, some of the series have accompanying audio CDs, flashcards, dictionary and software.

The textbook series offered are: Practical Chinese (with 10 levels of text books), Chinese Made Easy, Chinese Made Easy for Kids, Better Chinese, Kuaile Hanyu and Daily Chinese. All Text books are written by qualified authors with advanced studies. The books are specially designed to help students prepare effectively for the different Chinese tests, such as SAT II in the US, CSE/IGCSE/A-Level Mandarin Chinese Exams in the United Kingdom and the Australian Mandarin exams.

To fully embrace a language, students are encouraged to apply their text book learnings to other activities. ChildBook also provides fun story books, videos, songs and software to complement a student’s formal study of Chinese. There are also free resources in ChildBook that may be used to further enhance a student’s study of the Chinese language, such as worksheets, exercise plans, project plans and even coloring pages for the smaller students.
