Retire With Coupons Teaches Money Saving Tricks While Donating Back to the Community

Bloomington, IL, January 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- While the cost of household goods and groceries are on the rise, the average income hasn’t increased enough to cover the increase, leaving many Americans struggling to make ends meet. Kimberly McCormick of Retire With Coupons is offering training to help shoppers get more bang for their grocery store buck.

Mrs. McCormick, a wife and mom to three young children, has learned to save money while shopping by mastering the art of couponing. Her website, http://www.retirewithcoupons.com offers a blog, great deal alert, printable coupons and additional resources to aid other shoppers in doing the same thing.

Mrs. McCormick is now offering local workshops on couponing. The workshop covers the basics of coupon use, organization, finding current sales, store rebates, internet goldmines, online vs. offline couponing, question & answer session, and specific, detailed explanations of some of her best deals.

Mrs. McCormick is currently offering workshops to groups of five or more, and would like to make the training available through her local human service offices, such as WIC, DHS, and PATH, as well as parenting groups, and other companies and organizations where clients are walking a thin line between making too much money to get government assistance, but too little money to get by. “The niche we would love to fill,” according to McCormick, “is the people who are struggling from paycheck to paycheck and doing without necessities to make ends meet.” This could include college students, young parents, single parents, the elderly, and others who are fighting to survive increased costs without increased incomes.

Attendees of Mrs. McCormick’s workshops receive a printed copy of her electronic Refund & Coupon How To Book, handouts on shopping trends, as well as items she’s purchased for just pennies.

When asked how much she saves on an average grocery trip, Mrs. McCormick said, “It totally depends on the deal. Recently, I paid 16¢ for 24 boxes of jell-o after coupons. That's pretty typical for my type of shopping. I do tons of transactions to make my out of pocket smaller. The jell-o included a Catalina deal (a check out coupon you receive after paying), so I earned $2 for every three I bought. I actually paid my 16¢, and walked away with $16 to use on another transaction.”

Currently, Mrs. McCormick has committed to spending only $150 a month on groceries, including pet supplies, and baby diapers, for her family of five. Her up to date status may be found on her blog at www.retirewithcoupons.blogspot.com.
