Great Opportunity for Aspiring Authors

Leading international homeschooling magazine launches creative fiction writing contest.

Gray, TN, January 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine, the leading magazine for home educating families, is pleased to announce their second Storytime Writing Contest. Beginning on January 5, 2009 and continuing through midnight, March 16, 2009, this short story contest is open to adults (16 and up) and children (15 and under).

“We want to encourage aspiring authors of all ages who have a fictional story to share. Our goal is to create a unique opportunity for homeschooling children and adults to submit their best work to our impressive review panel, “ explains Gena Suarez, owner and publisher of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine, “The Storytime contest was extremely popular last time, and we’re proud to be hosting it once again.”

Along with a Grand Prize Package in each category (each valued at over $1,000), the winners will have their stories published in the Summer 2009 issue of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine and in an upcoming E-book.

In the adult category, The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine is looking for wholesome, stirring fiction that will inspire and encourage homeschooling families. Children are encouraged to be creative and to share their story in 1,500 words or less. Topics are limited only by imagination. Stories will be carefully reviewed by a panel of expert judges. The Grand Prize Winners in each category, as well as eleven Honorable Mentions from each, will be chosen and announced on or before May 4, 2009.
