New York, NY, January 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- GigaSpeed International, Inc. today announced the appointment of world-renowned communications and technology visionary David Croslin as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Croslin comes to GigaSpeed from Hewlett-Packard, where he served as Chief Technologist, Communications, Media and Entertainment. Croslin brings more than 15 years of telecom and technology experience to the company.
As CTO, Croslin will be responsible for the continued development and communication of the company’s technology strategy, vision, and product & service offerings. Croslin, who served as a member of the company’s Board of Advisors, will work closely with GigaSpeed's management team to drive innovation and implement state-of-the-art and future-proof technologies in the company’s Broadband Wireless Access and Fiber To The Home/Office infrastructures.
“Dave is joining us from the world’s largest IT company where he was responsible for the industries that we are planning to change with our next-generation-access infrastructures. He is a pragmatic professional who can support marketing and sales, and he can manage architecture and development teams. Dave’s HP experience, combined with his earlier tenure as Chief Product Architect at Verizon Business puts him square in the middle of where we want to be”, said Neal Lachman, Chairman & CEO, GigaSpeed Intertational, Inc. “But he is also a respected futurist and visionary who published many articles and papers, and he is frequently quoted in leading industry publications. Dave will represent the company as technology leader through public presentations, white papers, magazine articles and professional publications.”
"GigaSpeed has developed the FiberBroadband Strategy since 2000, and will build, own and operate BWA and FTTH/O infrastructures in the USA, UK and The Netherlands. They have a tremendous amount of Intellectual Property and an amazing vision, which I will help implement and execute. I am excited at the opportunity to join this high-growth company that is poised to lead the next era of wired and wireless communications. I look forward to enabling future growth together with GigaSpeed’s team," stated David Croslin.
Croslin, 51, was recruited to HP to become Chief Technologist of the company’s $9 Billion Communications, Media and Entertainment vertical. As Chief Technologist, Croslin was the primary innovation contact with and trusted advisor for CTOs and CIOs at major accounts including some of the world’s largest information, technology, and communications companies. Prior to HP, he served as Chief Product Architect at Verizon Business where he managed a team of distinguished architects, driving over 250 developers across all product areas, impacting all revenue streams.
Croslin holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix and a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Troy State University, AL - Magna Cum Laude.
About GigaSpeed International, Inc.
Based on 90,000 man-hours of research and planning (since April 2000), the principals behind GigaSpeed developed the FiberBroadband Strategy (FBS), a turn-key solution that can be utilized by legacy operators (cable and communications companies) as well as by Next-Generation-Network companies all over the world. GigaSpeed International, Inc. will soon be replaced as the holding company. The team will proceed under a Delaware LLC holding and investment firm under a new name. The firm’s first major project is underway in The Netherlands.
