The Top Villa Rentals of 2008
Luxury Retreats, the leader in luxury villa rentals worldwide, just released its list of top properties for 2008. Topping the list was a four-bedroom property in the Turks and Caicos, plus the multi-million dollar homes of Maui. Villa rentals are becoming even more popular in the travel industry as people search for value, even in the luxury sector.
Montreal, Canada, January 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Luxury Retreats, the leader in luxury villa rentals worldwide, just released its list of top properties for 2008, highlighting a number of perennial favorites as well as several rising trends in travel.
Luxury villa rentals were a popular choice overall in 2008, according to travel experts, playing on the value-for-money movement that drove the entire industry.
“Even travelers with a luxury budget like to feel as though they’re getting the most for their money, especially now,” said Luxury Retreats’ CEO Joe Poulin. “All of our most popular villas this year offered great value.”
Topping the list in the Caribbean, for example, was a four-bedroom property in the Turks and Caicos that rents out for USD$828 per night in the high season. For that price, guests receive a fully-equipped home with pool, outdoor living areas and a private beachfront. All of Luxury Retreats’ top five most requested Caribbean villas were waterfront, in fact, proving that being right on the sand still represents the vacation ideal.
In the Hawaii category, Maui continued to be a strong seller, taking all top five spots even though all but one of Luxury Retreats’ most popular villas there rent out at more than USD$1000 per night.
There were a few surprises among the top European villas, including the presence of a Sardinian property at the head of the list.
“Some of our travelers stuck to their own tried and true destinations, while others looked to new corners for better value and something a little different,” said Poulin, adding that “this is likely to continue through 2009.”
