Mamaroneck, NY, January 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday, January 8, 2009, Jon A. Dorf, Founder of and Managing Partner to The Dorf Law Firm, LLP announced that Jonathan B. Nelson, Esq., counsel for The Dorf Law Firm, LLP will head up the firm’s Litigation Department handling a diverse array of matters including complex corporate litigation.

As a corporate counsel and litigator, Mr. Nelson has extensive experience in corporate governance, multinational operations, risk management, strategic business development, dispute resolution, complex litigation matters, and contract law.

Mr. Nelson has represented the Compass Group USA, Inc. as Assistant General Counsel. A subsidiary of Compass Group PLC which is traded publicly on the London Stock Exchange (CPG.L.), Compass provides food service solutions to business enterprises and governmental entities, generating approximately $20B in annual revenue.

Before joining Compass, Mr. Nelson founded The Law Offices of Jonathan B. Nelson, P.C. This general law practice located in Manhattan focused on civil and criminal litigation in state and federal court. Prior to that, while serving as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, Mr. Nelson was quickly promoted to the position of Senior Trial Attorney. Upon receiving commendations for successfully trying numerous felony cases, including homicides, he was chosen by District Attorney Charles J. Hynes to help form an elite bureau, specializing in the complex prosecution of crimes committed against children.

Mr. Nelson received his B.A. from Brown University and was awarded a J.D. magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School. He has served as Assistant Adjunct Professor at Brooklyn Law School; appeared several times as legal commentator on Court TV; and has been a returning guest on CNN's "Burden of Proof".
