We'll Always Be Pals - The Last Words of a Dying Father and a True Hero! is released by author Tom McManus (published by Dog Ear Publishing - www.dogearpublishing.net).
Jacksonville, FL, January 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In this memoir and biography, former NFL player and author Tom McManus tells the story of his father Gene McManus. “Geno” was a powerfully built man and a tough but loving father who wanted the best for his children. Born just before the Great Depression, he lived through many hardships and exciting times in his life. He eventually grew up to be a football star, a boxer, a B-24 liberator pilot and POW during World War II. His memories as told to his son about living through POW camp in Nazi territory are particularly riveting.
Despite the fifty years between them, Tom and his father became best friends. Geno closely followed his youngest son’s football career and taught Tom all he knew about the game. After more than a few setbacks, Tom McManus finally achieved his lifelong dream of playing for the NFL where he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tom's father, hero and mentor, would eventually die of cancer when he was in his seventies. His last words to his son were, "We'll always be pals."
In We'll Always Be Pals, Tom McManus has recorded an amazing story of survival, strength, guts, glory and love. It is the story of a true American hero.
