Martial Arts Business Daily Launches
January 2009 marks a new era in martial arts business journalism with the launch of MartialArtsBusinessDaily.com.
Austin, TX, January 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The editor of online business journal MartialArtsBusinessDaily.com is on a mission to raise the level of professionalism in the martial arts business industry.
Mike Massie hovers over his desk, quietly sipping strong black coffee while he browses news stories, business articles, and informational websites that cater to martial arts school owners and instructors.
“It’s the 800 pound elephant in the room that no one seems to want to talk about,” he quips. “All the media outlets and journals in the martial arts business industry are owned and controlled by special interests. That sort of makes it difficult for the average instructor to find unbiased information on the business of operating a martial art school.”
"My goal is to present an alternative viewpoint on martial arts instruction and school management – one that is based on the actual needs and goals of the average black belt running a school.”
To achieve this end, Massie has launched an online business journal that he says has a much different tone and style than other publications. “The idea is to attract the thinking martial artist – those men and women who want an objective viewpoint that is not based around a particular agenda or opinion."
And, although the site is only in its first week of launch, feedback within the industry has been quite positive.
“On the first day we already had readers posting positive comments on articles and editorial content,” said Massie. “It’s encouraging to receive that sort of feedback this early in the game, but I’m also looking forward to hearing from readers who are willing to provide input on how we can improve."
“The goal of publishing this online journal is to provoke an intelligent dialogue about what is and isn’t acceptable in our industry. I want martial arts instructors to be examining previously accepted industry practices from more than just a fiscal standpoint; I want them to also look at those practices from a moral, social, and ethical viewpoint as well.”
And, for all intents and purposes, it appears that MartialArtsBusinessDaily.com is already achieving that goal.
