ODAF (Organ Donor Awareness Foundation) to Hold “Party Hearty” Fundraiser at Pangaea Hard Rock Lounge in Hollywood, Florida on February 12th, 2009
ODAF (Organ Donor Awareness Foundation) is hosting a fundraising event, “Party Hearty” at the Pangaea Hard Rock Lounge on February 12th. Not only does ODAF promote organ donation awareness, it also focuses on the families of organ donor “heroes” who are left behind, providing scholarships for college and vocational schooling and funds for family necessities.
Coral Springs, FL, January 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Two nights before Valentine’s Day, the heart theme goes beyond the obvious, as ODAF (Organ Donor Awareness Foundation) will be hosting “Party Hearty”, a gala fundraiser at the trendy Pangaea Hard Rock Lounge in Hollywood, Florida. ODAF founder, Neal Bira, himself a heart donor recipient, hopes to raise funds for the children and families of organ donors.
The Organ Donor Awareness Foundation’s goal is to increase organ donor awareness and to provide funds to help the children and families of organ donor’s so their dreams become a reality. “We want to make sure that they are not forgotten or left in a state of devastation when their loved one passes who was generous and angelic enough to pass life on to another,” said Neal Bira, ODAF’s founder. The money raised will help provide educational opportunities and necessities for those families and children left under duress as a result of the financial hardship caused by the death of a parent who was an Organ Donor Hero.
Neal Bira founded ODAF after meeting the family of his heart donor, Sallustiano DeJesus, and learning of DeJesus’ son’s Jeffrey’s college aspirations. “ODAF focuses on Jeffrey and all the other children of the Organ Donor Heroes whom we need to take care of and make sure that they are okay," says Bira.
The “Party Hearty” fundraising event will be held at 7 p.m., at the luxurious Pangaea Hard Rock Lounge (www.pangaea-lounge.com) at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. For $125 per person, partygoers will enjoy a two hour open bar and a full night of food, dancing, music, magic and comedy…an entertainment extravaganza.
