North Phoenix Healthcare Shortage Addressed by New Family Practice, Norterra Family Medicine
Drs. Rebecca Weiss and Kristine Sarna to lead new area practice and accommodate 5,000+ new patients.
Phoenix, AZ, February 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Norterra Family Medicine, a state-of-the-art family practice in the North Valley, announces its grand opening on Feb. 11. Norterra Family Medicine will be one of the only practices to offer family medicine in the North Phoenix area and is the only practice in the Norterra area.
Co-Founders Dr. Rebecca Weiss and Dr. Kristine Sarna, having already established Norterra area Paradise Medspa & Wellness early last year, concluded that venturing into this second medical business together made sense after noting over the past year a scarcity of healthcare in their vicinity. Both doctors specialize in family medicine while also offering their expertise in dermatology and integrative medicine.
Many practices in surrounding areas, such as Anthem, are not able to schedule appointments for new and existing patients in a timely fashion. Norterra Family Medicine hopes to relieve some of this pressure by accommodating over 5,000 new patients. They expect to accomplish this with three available providers who will each examine roughly 25 patients a day, five days a week.
With residents looking for alternative health options in the area, Dr. Weiss states, “We don’t want our patients to feel like a number. That’s why we’re focusing on our comfortable office surroundings and friendly staff. We understand people are busy and need to see a doctor, especially during the winter season, therefore we accept same day appointments for acute illnesses.”
Norterra Family Medicine offers care for patients of all ages, with services including: annual physical exams, same day visits for acute care needs, wellness and preventative visits, GYN services (including family planning), care for chronic illnesses, DOT physicals, worker’s comp cases and pediatric and geriatric care. Norterra Family Medicine also features an on-site laboratory for patient convenience.
