HarborPlace Country Fair Entertains All Ages
Port St. Lucie, FL, January 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The beautiful grounds of HarborPlace were transformed into a Country Fair on Saturday, January 17. The fair, held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, was enjoyed by all ages, from newborn visitors to the centenarian residents. For just a $2.00 donation, visitors were able to play a variety of games, including a cow milking station, bounce houses, duck pond, live music, pony rides, and more. Hot dogs, cotton candy, sodas, and snow cones were also included with the entrance fee.
Face painting was a lovely addition to the day. The designs provided by Karen Dierksen, aka “Patches the Clown”, were very unusual; she stayed until the last child had received their face painting. Residents and visitors alike commented on the beautiful designs.
Local businesses supporting the event included Life Care Center of Port St. Lucie, Associated Home Health, Abel Medical, Generations Salon Services, HarborPlace Home Health, and HarborPlace Caregivers. Holiday Inn provided a prize package of a weekend visit for two, which was raffled off to a lucky winner.
The Humane Society entertained the residents and visitors alike with their well-trained dogs. A Doberman Pinscher was even outfitted with a country-style outfit to celebrate the special day.
All proceeds from the event, including admission fees, a tag sale, and several raffles, were donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Diane Black, Alzheimer’s Association Volunteer Coordinator, commented, “HarborPlace comes up with such unusual events to support the Alzheimer’s Association all year long. The Country Fair was a wonderful idea, and it was a lot of fun!”
