Cassbeth Sends Author of Sustainable Development Possible with Creative System Engineering to IEEE Event on HDTV and IEEE Congressional Science & Engineering Fellowships

Cherry Hill, NJ, January 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Cassbeth sends author of Sustainable Development Possible with Creative System Engineering to IEEE event with presentations on HDTV and IEEE Congressional Science & Engineering Fellowships. A copy of the book was given away as a door prize and the author discussed with other attendees various HDTV issues.

From the author: "It is obvious that the team spent a great deal of time on the HDTV encoding mechanisms. The roll out is immanent and the system will be what it will be. From a system perspective I have to say they should have spent more time trying to determine how they could make the system as good as the current system from 2 perspectives: distance from the transmitters and user preferences for the old display format. In the end user acceptance will determine if the system will be successful."

The second presentation of the evening was on the IEEE congressional Science & Engineering Fellows Program. The presentation included its history to date and personal reflections on the many activities the presenter was involved in during his tenure on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Fellow. It concluded with a call for other IEEE members to consider this service position. The author passed a copy of his book to the presenter for possible circulation to policy makers in Washington DC.

The book offers a plan for projects that will be performed in the next 100 years. The core of the plan includes practicing system engineering. The book also includes a paper requested by President Roosevelt in 1944 on what we should do after the war. This famous paper called Science the Endless Frontier gave birth to the National Science Foundation and the book suggests that it set policy in the USA after WW II, which yielded our modern world. The book suggests this paper be used as a guide when framing our energy, climate, and sustainability policies in this new century.

About The Author:
