Shirat Shalom Invites Guests 2/6 Tu Bish'vat seder
Shirat Shalom is hosting a Tu Bish'vat seder on 2/6 and Shabbat services on 2/7.
Elgin, IL, January 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Shirat Shalom in Elgin is a Conservative Synagogue and is currently accepting new members and new religious school students.
You can "Celebrate the Joys of Conservative Judaism" at Congregation Shirat Shalom on the northeast side of Elgin. Worship here and you can see nature’s beauty as you pray. The huge windows show the trees, animals, and add to one’s spiritual experience.
Friendly, participatory Hebrew and English Shabbat services are held every Saturday at 9:45 am. Shirat Shalom means “Song of Peace” and the Congregation sings and is led by a Hazzan or Cantor. Saturday Shabbat services include a spirited Torah discussion, focusing on the “parsha of the week.” Services are followed by a community kiddush luncheon.
On Friday, February 6th, Shirat Shalom is hosting a joyous Kabbalat Shabbat service and Tu Bish'vat seder. Tu Bish'vat is one of our "under-celebrated" holidays; come and see what it's all about.
This week's Torah portion is Bo, in which Pharaoh finally lets the Israelites go free, to worship G-d, will be studies on Saturday, February 7th.
Shirat Shalom would love to see you in its Jewish community. For more information, please call 847-695-6246, email hazzansarah@gmail.com, or visit www.CongregationShiratShalom.org.
