NJ Artists and Performers Gather for Family-Friendly Fun and Flair
Morris County, NJ, January 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- An exquisite arts festival entitled ‘Bliss 9’ is bringing together local painters, photographers, sculptors, jewelry makers, dancers and musicians for an evening of family-friendly fun and flair on Friday, April 3 2009, 6pm, at the Hanover Marriott hotel in Whippany. Bliss Festivals are the brainchild of conductor Stephen P Brown, who will be performing at Bliss 9 with his jazz orchestra, most of whom are also local musicians.
Bliss 9 is presented by the Stone Cottage Arts Foundation, a non-profit organization that exists to support Brown’s creative endeavors, and is very proud to feature diverse artists including Abagail Eckert from Netcong, Donald Amari from Montville, Ted Van Natta from Oak Ridge, Zachary Bloom from Montclair, Fusion of Rockaway, Pianos NJ from Parsippany, the Inner Vizion from Franklin, Calligraphia by Melissa from Montville, amongst others.
Later in the evening, live entertainment by Noah & Lynn and a local dance troupe precede an hour-long appearance by Stephen P Brown. With Nashville-based Master of Ceremonies Sue Ross holding everything together, Bliss 9 is also an avenue to directly support the valuable work of one of New Jersey’s oldest disability services organizations, Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey based in Maplewood, to whom a portion of all proceeds will be donated.
Stephen P Brown is a resident of Montville and attended both Montville and Hanover Park High Schools, although he grew up in England where he studied percussion and conducting. Even though one of his teachers called him “too nice to be a conductor”, Brown has conducted orchestras, choirs, percussion ensembles, dance companies, and theaters, and toured throughout the UK, Europe and Africa as well as East Coast USA. He is currently Artistic Director of the Jubilee Symphony Orchestra in New York City, and the Jacksonville Chapel Concert Band in Lincoln Park. At Bliss 9, Brown will conduct his own jazz orchestra in a number of well-known, hum-along, foot-tapping tunes.
Discounted tickets are available online at blissfestival from February 1, or send an email to tickets@blissfestival.com
