Author Publishes First UK Recession-Proof Job Hunting Book
Writing a book for a newcomer can be a daunting task especially if there is very little time during your busy schedule to put pen to paper. A first-time author managed to write a book and publish it with a month. Find out more.
Colchester, United Kingdom, January 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Colchester Author Brian Simms has amazed many people by writing his first book on turning job seekers into job hunters and getting them back to work - despite the recession. He has made this book available by publishing it on Lulu.com, the on-line marketplace for digital content.
Mr. Simms decided to do his part in the fight against the recession by using his experience as an ICT, Job Search and Life Skills tutor reach a wider audience through his book. The amazing feat was that the book was put together in less than a month by making use of any spare time at home when the family were asleep. When asked how he did it he said “You need to plan out any idle time you have each week – even if it means getting up an hour early, going to bed an hour late and using up half your lunch break to do it.”
Charles Buxton MP (1823 – 1871) once commented “You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.” This is as true today as it was then and Mr Simms' book is a testament to this.
By doing some brainstorming and collating various job hunting strategies together, Mr Simms managed to put together a table of contents in his first day. The next three weeks were spent filling in the blanks and, using his own job searching skills, to produce his manuscript. He then made some minor alterations, proofread it and published it. Mr Simms says: “A few years ago, I attempted to write a book but gave up because it was too much of an uphill struggle. Finding an interested publisher is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I then came across Charles Buxton's quote and discovered Lulu and put the two together to write this book. I can now consider myself an author!”
The book is titled “Get Me Off The Dole: The UK Job Hunters' Manual” and gives the unemployed renewed hope in finding a job - even during a recession.
