Arkiva Releases Version 3.0 of Web Portal with Media Conversion Services, Disaster Recovery Software, PC Backup, and Social Networking Tools
Coral Springs, FL, February 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- After spending the past year building upon and refining its digital asset archiving software, Arkiva, Inc. has released Version 3.0 of the www.arkiva.com web portal to include enhanced social networking tools, a more robust media conversion service, and easier to use archiving utilities.

“We see disasters in the news all the time…wildfires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, etc. People also deal with hard drive crashes and the issue of having their media scattered on multiple websites and locations across the internet,” said Bruce Roberson, Director, Arkiva, Inc. “Everyone reports on these issues, but nobody has delivered a solution. We have it and it exists at Arkiva.com. Not only do we provide protection for your assets of monetary value, but also protection for your assets of sentimental value: your memories.”

Arkiva.com is a multi‐functional website where users can backup media, such as photos, videos, music, documents, home inventory and medical records. Users can access, share, and edit their media at any time from any location. The new update also includes social tools such as Groups, Public Media Sharing, Messaging and Video Conferencing, as well as enhanced usability of its original archiving system.

Additionally, Arkiva offers a digital conversion service that transfers memorabilia and assets of sentimental value such as videotapes, photo prints, slides, film reels, documents, record albums and cassettes to digital formats (DVD, CD), and uploads the newly‐digitized media to each customer’s personal Arkiva.com account.

“The internet today is saturated with many single-function websites that fulfill one aspect of media storage for consumers. Our goal since inception has been to create one location where consumers can archive and share everything that’s important to them,” said Zachary Goldberg, Chief Executive Officer, Arkiva, Inc. “With the release of Version 3.0, we have built social utilities on top of our core archiving capabilities to enhance this unique user experience. All of the features of the Arkiva.com portal have been refined and redesigned to make sharing memories easier and more interactive than ever before.”

Along with the release of Version 3.0 comes the launch of Arkiva Groups. Users can create public, private (invitation-only), or invisible groups. Within Arkiva Groups, users can share full resolution photos, videos, music, documents, and more with other group members. Social tools, such as a discussion board, calendar of events, and comments, are also provided within Arkiva Groups.

“I joined a group for alumni from my high school. All of our video yearbooks were converted to DVD and posted on the group page. I couldn’t believe it,” said Mallory Goldfarb, Arkiva user. “After not viewing these videos in years, I can’t stop watching them! Arkiva has truly let me enjoy these memories once again.”
