Yuri's Night Team Launches Space Raffle
Washington, DC, February 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The executive council for Yuri's Night, The World Space Party, is pleased to announce the launch of a new fund-raising campaign at SpaceRaffle.net, the world's first long term raffle campaign supporting a space cause.
Starting with a raffle of up to $500 in travel / accommodation funds for the winner to attend any Yuri's Night celebration worldwide, the Space Raffle intend to grow substantially over the next several years.
The Space Raffle plans to begin raffling Zero Gravity flights of the same type of airplane traveling in parabolic flight patterns simulating weightlessness that NASA uses for microgravity experiments and the training of astronauts.
Raffle Campaign Director Rocky Persaud says, "The long term goal is to support as many Yuri's Night parties around the world through these raffles as we can, and eventually to host the world's first Zero Gravity Football tournament with raffle winners in teams competing on behalf of their favorite space cause."
"For the first raffle it is very important we reach our target of 1000 tickets sold," said Persaud, who is also president of IPX Entertainment, the inventor of Zero G Football. "We will not begin offering the Zero G prizes until we meet that minimum target. Our campaign depends on reaching financial goals at every stage so that we can afford to add additional raffles that would support additional parties, and grow the campaign war chest to afford the Zero G Football tournament in just a few years. All ticket purchasers and sponsors at every stage will be helping us reach those goals."
