Trouble Brewing in Chapel Hill

Raleigh, NC, February 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The village of Chapel Hill, the charming town that hosts the nation’s first state university, has worked diligently to withstand the growth generated by its role as one of the three sister cities in the burgeoning Research Triangle region of North Carolina.

But is there trouble in paradise?

Raleigh Metro Magazine addresses the issues confronting Chapel Hill in its second in a series of special sections on the communities that comprise the monthly’s coverage area:

Chapel Hill writer Sharon Swanson reviews the past and ponders the future of Chapel Hill through the eyes of influential players in the town’s identity. Metro Design Editor Diane Lea takes inventory of the town’s historic architecture. And Food Editor Moreton Neal – who founded the first French restaurant in North Carolina with first husband Bill Neal, a member of the James Beard Society Hall of Fame – examines the consistent national reputation for superior restaurants and chefs in her hometown.

Metro’s coverage extends to Chapel Hill’s neighbors Carrboro and Hillsborough that share an aesthetic kindred spirit with Chapel Hill.

Special sections on Durham, Raleigh, and “down east” North Carolina will follow in subsequent months.
