Soul Ride: Bullet Train Tour: East Coast
A soul band with it's own brand, kLoB takes to the road to support their self-released debut album, 'speed dial: LOVE.'
Jacksonville, FL, February 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Headed by Philadelphia native, Kip Kolb, kLoB is taking their show on the road this February.
The group released their first full-length album, 'speed dial: LOVE,' at the end of Summer in 2008. The album is a 75 minute tour of it's own. A display of musical diversity and creativity that takes old-school concepts and fashions them into something decidedly modern and fresh. You can hear elements of Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Sly Stone, as well as Tom Waits, Joe Cocker, Randy Newman, Pink Floyd and the Beatles. That being said, it's by no means plagiaristic. kLoB is definitely kLoB. No bones about it.
The tour is called 'Soul Ride: Bullet Train Tour,' named after a quote from the title track of the CD. The vehicle is an '08, silver Ford E350XLT (with matching trailor) that has been professionally detailed to resemble the bullet train from the cover art of the album. This band is well practiced in the art of branding, to be sure.
Fortunately, the product backs up the brand.
Tour dates are as follows:
Wednesday, Feb. 4th: Caledonia Lounge, Athens, GA
Thursday, Feb. 5th: Rocket Club, Asheville, NC
Saturday, Feb. 7th: Doc Watson's, Philadelphia, PA
Wednesday, Feb. 11th: R Bar, New York, NY
Friday, Feb. 13th: Tin Roof, Charleston, SC
