NAFA’s 2008 Membership Drive Leads to 70 New Members
NAFA Fleet Management Association Gained 70 new Members through the Association’s latest Membership Drive.
Princeton, NJ, February 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NAFA has always believed that the Association’s strength was in its Membership and that was clearly seen through this year’s Member-Recruit-A-Member Drive. For the third straight year, NAFA’s Membership Drive exceeded the totals of the previous year. The 2008 campaign, which ran from June 1 to November 30, resulted in 70 new Full or Associate Members for NAFA, the largest association for fleet management professionals.
Fifty-eight Members and Affiliates participated in this year’s drive, which was open to all NAFA Members and Affiliates. Participants earned $10 NAFA Dollars for each new fleet manager recruited and gained a ticket for a drawing towards a free registration at NAFA’s 2009 Institute & Expo in New Orleans April 25-28. The five lucky winners of the drawing included: Millie Souders of Montgomery County, Maryland; Ricky Bledsoe of First Vehicle Services; John Alley, CAFM, from the City of San Diego, California; Kevin Fareri, CAFM, from the City of San Antonio, Texas; and Alan Riddle of Southern California Edison Company.
There were several methods Members and Affiliates used to attract new fleet managers to NAFA. Many looked at similar companies and organizations, and contacted the person who managed their fleet. Others invited colleagues and prospective members to local chapter meetings to give them a small sample of what NAFA’s services provide to the fleet community.
John Alley personally helped four people become NAFA Members just by telling them what NAFA can do for them and their organization. “This Association offers networking, sample documents, answers to most of your questions, education and training, national recognition, CAFM, and much more,” said Alley.
Membership is one of NAFA’s highest priorities and the membership drive is just one of the avenues that NAFA uses to attract potential new members. Since current Members and Affiliates are already aware of NAFA’s services, having Members pass that information on to others is a great benefit. During the 6-month Recruit-A-Member Drive, the campaign was promoted in FleetFocus, press releases, and broadcasts to the Membership.
