Latino Charity Night Brings Together Education and Fashion
Piensa Mas Alla, Think Beyond Charity Event Hosted by Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Palomitaâ„¢.
San Francisco, CA, February 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Palomita Education Fund announces its collaboration with The Hispanic Scholarship Fund to host the second annual charity event, Piensa Mas Alla…Think Beyond, on May 29, 2009 at Terra SF in San Francisco. The event will spotlight education and the creative spirit of the Latino community. The charity event will raise funds through a cocktail and a live auction, with all proceeds benefiting Latino education through the Palomita Education Fund.
Drawing on last year’s success, the second annual Piensa Mas Alla…Think Beyond… event is expected to draw over 500 VIPs of the Latino community together in celebration and support of fashion, art and Latino culture. Guests will be greeted with a pink carpet arrival, followed by cocktails and traditional Mexican hors d’oeuvres. A fashion show and live auction will allow guests to bid for their favorite one-of-a kind celebrity-designed, special-edition apparel. Among this year’s confirmed celebrity designers are Rosario Dawson, Eva Longoria-Parker, Tony Romo, Andy Garcia, Jaslene Gonzalez, Tony Gonzalez, Maria Conchita Alonso, Valerie Cruz, LENA, and Christina Milian. They thank their early sponsors Amate Tequila, Head’s First Salon, HYP, Liz Palacios Jewelry, NYX Cosmetics, Nuena Photography, DLI, Casa Sanchez, the Robledo Family Winery, Tommy Bahama Rums, HISPANIC magazine and Telemundo TV 48.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. Founded in 1975 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, HSF's vision is to strengthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans. In support of its mission to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees, HSF provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. The objectives of the organization are to: provide scholarships to Latinos planning to enroll in college, encourage participation of the Latino community in higher education, and professional growth and promote a productive and high-quality life.
