The Virginia Bar Association Joins Prestigious List of Industry Partners Endorsing and Promoting RPost’s Registered E-mail Services

Joins growing list of 20 other Bar Associations nationwide that have partnered with RPost to help members reduce costs, improve agility and minimize risk.

Los Angeles, CA, February 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- RPost®, the leader in managed outbound messaging with its flagship Registered E-mail® service suite, today announced that The Virginia Bar Association has agreed to endorse RPost’s Registered E-mail® services and sponsor education to its 5,500 lawyer and judicial members. Starting in February, RPost and the association will begin a major awareness campaign for members focusing on how, why, and when to use RPost’s Registered E-mail proof service and RPost’s eSignOff electronic contracting service in their daily business. The Virginia Bar Association joins more than 20 other bar associations throughout regions in the United States—including New York City, Chicago, Boston, District of Columbia and Los Angeles—that have teamed up to endorse or sponsor RPost services with similar education programs.

In today’s world of increasingly electronic business transactions, e-mail senders are frequently burned with the excuse of, “I never got it,” or even worse, “yes, I received it but that is not what it said” relating to important e-mail correspondence. This trend poses a significant business risk, as shown by a recent RPost poll of corporate counsel across industry in which one out of every four respondents reported having been involved in a dispute where the delivery or content of e-mail was an issue. RPost’s Registered E-mail service helps to mitigate this risk by providing legally verifiable and admissible proof of e-mail content, delivery and time.

“The e-mail understanding taken for granted by IT staff is often far from the realm of what the e-mail end users believe – leaving a company or law firm exposed to significant liability risk,” commented Zafar Khan, CEO of RPost. “For example, many end users have the misconception that their important e-mail messages are protected and verifiable because their firm has an archive. The reality is that an archive gives a record of what content the user claims to have sent, but not an effective record of what was actually received, whether, or when it was received. We look forward to working with The Virginia Bar Association to educate members about these misconceptions and risks, and to present RPost as the solution of choice.”

In addition to providing proof of the e-mail transaction, RPost services include other on-demand features that will help members reduce e-discovery cost by minimizing overall e-mail volume stored, cut operational costs by replacing expensive couriers with e-mail, and sign and countersign contracts fully electronic by e-mail.

“We are looking forward to creating awareness among our members about RPost’s Registered E-mail service and offering them such a simple, yet robust, tool to improve their daily practice,” says Guy K. Tower, Executive Director of The Virginia Bar Association. “Not only will the service give our members an advantage in a courtroom setting, but we anticipate that using RPost to switch from paper to e-mail for notices and agreements will create value for members and their clients through faster transaction time, greater efficiency and significant cost savings.”

For the highest assurance of confidentiality, the RPost system does not retain a copy of the original Registered E-mail message, unlike alternative “store and forward” solutions. RPost services include one-click tools for electronic contracting and electronic signature, end-to-end e-mail encryption, PDF conversion and data leak protection in an all-in-one, on demand service offering.
