Inland Empire, CA, February 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Book 1: A Ghost of a Chance was first released in e-book version last summer. This week, Cambridge Books (Cambridge, MD) released the paperback copy of book 1. The series is based on a young woman named Shannon Delaney who is a publicity writer with the knack of taking freelance assignments that lead her into discovering her own emerging ability to speak to the past. Shannon delves into murder, mayhem and unsolved mysteries involving cold-cases influenced by California’s fascinating history. The author, Eagan-Cox, well known as a California historian/writer, uses elements of real history to bring the mystery to life. Citing studies in Victorian parlor magic, California’s founding Hispanic culture and her own Celtic ancestry, Eagan-Cox laces fact with fiction to create a cozy mystery series that layers elements of intrigue, mystery and history.

Author Elizabeth Eagan-Cox is taking the concept of the cozy G-Rated mystery novel into the mainstream community. She explains, "The ghosts in my mystery novel series are treated as characters that are pivotal to the plot and series development. In no way do I write them as novelties. Now, more than any other time in recent cultural history, the general public is open to accepting the reality that ghosts exist. Readers are open to my concept, that a cozy G-Rated mystery can be mainstream and at once include personalities in the story-line that are ghosts… real ghosts, who were people once alive and now have found a purpose in their spectral existence."
