Patricia Kennedy, Founder of Peace One Earth, Hosts Cocktail Reception for Sloan Gibson, President and CEO of the USO
Los Angeles, CA, February 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A truly impressive group of guests came to the Beverly Hills home of Patricia Kennedy, founder of Step Up 4 Vets and designer of the Peace One Earth Medallion, to meet Sloan Gibson, the recently elected President and CEO of the USO.
"I am always there to support our servicemen in anyway I can, and it is my great honor to host the reception for Sloan. I know he'll do a great job, and the USO can always count on Step Up 4 Vets to be there for them, " Ms. Kennedy said.
Among the guests were Major General John Harrel, Commanding General of the 40th Infantry Division, Captain James Sommer, U.S, Coast Guard Commanding Officer; Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Brigadier General Mike Teilmann of the Bob Hope USO, and Gordon Fawcett, USO-GLAA President. In addition, legendary Hollywood figure A.C. Lyles, KRTH radio personality Gary Bryan and noted actor (and the recipient of both a Silver Star and Purple Heart) James McEachin were on hand to great Gibson.
A highlight of the evening was a surprise appearance by noted jazz pianist Eric Lewis,who played "Happy Birthday" to the USO, as the next day was the 68th Anniversary of its formation.
