San Diego, CA, February 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Chairmen’s RoundTable (CRT), a San Diego-based, non profit volunteer organization that provides gratis mentoring and business advice to CEOs and presidents of local, private businesses, today announced that Jeff Campbell has been elected as Chairman.
Campbell has 35 years of executive management experience. He is the former CEO of Burger King and ex-Chairman of the Pillsbury Restaurant Group, which included – at the time of his tenure – the Burger King, Steak and Ale, Bennigan's and Godfather’s Pizza restaurant chains, totaling some 6,000 units worldwide. He has also held the posts of Senior Vice President Brand Development for Pepsi-Cola as well as CEO of the Johnny Rockets and Catalina Restaurant Groups. Since 2005, Campbell has been teaching part-time at San Diego State University’s Hospitality and Tourism School where he is currently the Norman Brinker Executive In Residence. He holds Bachelor of Arts from Fairfield University, a Master of Arts from the University of Miami and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
Campbell takes the Chairman post after two years of success under the leadership of Hus Tigli who will remain on the board as Chairman Emeritus. During Tigli’s tenure, the CRT hit several milestones including mentoring its 200th San Diego area company, celebrating its 10-year anniversary, and expanding its local outreach.
“Hus has guided the CRT into a new era,” said Jeff Campbell, Chairman of the CRT. “I am happy to pick up where he left off, with a renewed commitment to help as many companies as we can. The current economic climate is making it even clearer where we need to step up. Last year we offered a free seminar on ‘Doing Business in Tough Times’ and more outreach of this kind is in the works. We’re continuing on our mission to strengthen San Diego, one company at a time, and we’re striving to find the best ways to accomplish this goal.”
The CRT also announced the balance of its 2009 board of directors appointments: Michael J. Berthelot - Chief Financial Officer; David Bennett, Chair, Marketing; Dave Cox - Chair, Client Evaluation & Mentor Assignment; Darren Cecil - Chair, Client Acquisition; Thomas K. McGreal - Chair, Quality Assurance; Steven C. Mendell - Chair, Membership; Kevin O'Neill - Chair, Sponsor Development; Robert J. Pryor - Chair, Program Development.
