Poker Player Offers Unique Sponsorship Opportunity During the World Series of Poker

Santa Cruz, CA, June 30, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Poker player Kendall is providing a unique opportunity for a company interested in sponsoring a poker player during the 2006 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The majority of television exposure on stations such as ESPN generally focuses on the professional players, meaning sponsors of unknown poker players likely won’t receive air time. However, during the 2005 World Series of Poker, attention was also given to the first player out. Kendall has launched a blog at www.FirstOutPoker.com to recruit a sponsor, and he plans to be the “first player out” during this year’s event, to gain exposure for that sponsor.  The sponsorship will be auctioned off on eBay.

It is estimated that there will be approximately 8000 poker players in the 2006 World Series of Poker, from July 28th to August 10th.  Last year, the first player out was shown on television on the first main event broadcast on ESPN.  Kendall is counting on similar exposure during this year’s poker tournament, in efforts to recruit a sponsor for his “first out poker experiment.”

Kendall's strategy to be the first player out is to go all-in every hand until the first player is eliminated.  His motto will be “Putting the pressure on early,” and letting luck decide his fate in the tournament.  His goal is to be the first player eliminated.  If he isn’t eliminated first, and that exposure opportunity passes, he will resume by playing with a goal of winning.  Either way, this is a unique approach and concept in game sponsorship.

Kendall's sponsor will receive exposure on www.FirstOutPoker.com, his blog on the experiment.  The sponsor will also have the chance to have him wear the company’s shirts, hats, or other merchandise while he is in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker.  Kendall will also mention the sponsorship and provide ad space on the blog, where he will chronicle his daily experiences during the tournament.
