Creator and owner, Diana York, saw a gap in the convenience factor of traditional crock pots that offer only one cooking chamber. As a frequent slow cooker user, York found it difficult to create diversified meals while preserving the convenience crock pot cooking is known for.
"I found I would use my slow cooker and then spend more time preparing side dishes to go along with the meal. In the end, it did not save as much time as I wanted." York shared.
York also recognized the potential for expanding slow cooker recipes, which typically focus on stews, soups and one pot dishes, to make recipe variety and cooking for the seasons easier. While some manufacturers have developed crock pot accessories, like divided chamber inserts which replace the traditional cooking chamber, Slow Cooker Mate™ is the first appliance on the market which allows a meal to be cooked using the single cooking chamber and divided chamber insert together.
