MBX Systems Wraps Record Year for Appliance Manufacturing in 2008; Capacity to Triple in 2009
Market expansion and customer demand results in 48 percent increase in server appliances manufactured in 2008.
Wauconda, IL, February 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Recapping its achievements in 2008, MBX Systems, a leading manufacturer of server appliances for OEMs and software developers, announced the company experienced a 48 percent increase in server appliances manufactured in 2008 compared to 2007. The privately held company does not publish its revenues, however the number of systems built last year reached well into the five figures. Many of MBX’s customers rank among the world’s top 500 largest software firms, and one customer is in the top 10.
Tom Crowley, MBX Systems chief executive officer remarked, “The solidity of our customers allowed them to thrive through economically challenging times, and it’s a testament to the viability and quality of their solutions. As their hardware partner they demand exceptional quality standards from MBX, and we were well positioned in 2008 to meet their performance and delivery expectations.”
Crowley noted additional company achievements in 2008, including:
· Stronger market penetration in key vertical industries, such as storage and storage virtualization, unified communications, Software as a Service (SaaS), and security
· Expanded service offering for customers such as global export management, a European distribution facility, shipping customization, and enhancements to the customer portal for extensive reporting and downloads
· Improved operational processes by implementing new manufacturing software
· Significant competitive wins over other Tier 1 server appliance manufacturers
MBX is approximately 70-percent complete with a physical expansion that will result in its manufacturing facility to triple in size in second quarter 2009. It will enable the company to manage the significant increase in demand. Crowley adds, “We are forecasting double-digit growth from our existing customer base in 2009 while, at the same time, maintain a dynamic sales pipeline. We have the processes, manpower and facilities to handle the additional demand.”
MBX is carrying forth its quality initiatives in 2009, striving to continue to improve its defect-free ratio that has remained above 97% during the previous two years. This commitment to quality was influential in the company’s selection as runner up Manufacturer of the Year 2008 for START-IT magazine Technology & Business Awards in the midmarket category.
