Finvest Winds Down Fund
Zurich, Switzerland, February 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In line with Finvest Asset Management's strategic policy to expand its pure equity and fund of funds activity, the firm will wind down the Finvest Primer fund, and return all allocations to its investors. The process will be effected over the next 6 months. The decision will allow the firm to focus resources and attention on its most recent initiatives, mandates, capital allocation, and strategic development.
The Finvest Primer fund enjoyed an 8 year stint, and experienced modest growth since its inception several years ago. Due to capacity constraints within the option strategy which it employed, efforts to increase asset size were ultimately sidelined. Consequently, asset size was contained and the fund remained closed, all but to a handful of select investors. As a result of 2008's turbulent market, the fund eked out a disappointing, but minimally positive return.
Finvest Asset Management will direct its attention to its efforts to identify suitable equity candidates, which could potentially make attractive investment targets. Firms which are being identified as potential investments are companies which are seeking to: convert debt to equity, improve their balance sheets, increase working capital, or pursue initiatives or acquisitions which may require additional funding.
Neil Saunders, an analyst who is employed by the firm commented: "The economy needs job creation, companies need capital, and we will be aiming to work with other strategic partners, who are like-minded in identifying solutions and goals, to resolve or break the current credit and capital hiatus."
