US Based Ideum Signs OEM Partnership with Natural User Interface
Ideum a leading interactive solutions provider in the US with its focus on designing exhibits and interactive multimedia solutions signed an OEM partnership with Natural User Interface (NUI).
SkellefteƄ, Sweden, February 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ideum Inc., an US based interactive solutions provider, signed an OEM Partnership with Natural User Interface (NUI). Ideum "ideas + media" is a leading interactive solutions provider in the US, with its focus on designing exhibits and interactive multimedia solutions for museums, non-profit organizations and socially responsible companies. Their client portfolio includes amongst others Adobe Systems Inc, NASA and numerous prominent science centers and museums. Ideum has developed a high-resolution, ruggedized multitouch table for museums, running NUI Suite Snowflake as a software solution. In addition to the hardware, they offer customized multi-touch applications, developed in Adobe Flash, that run on NUI's vision tracking software.
Ideum is also preparing to distribute NUI software on HP TouchSmarts systems with integrated NextWindow overlays. This solution is also a part of their wide variety of product portfolio offerings. Ideum is currently developing custom software for The Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo, Texas and Vulcan Park and Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. These museums will have the first two multitouch tables, with installations scheduled for March.
The installation for Vulcan Park and Museum will include multitouch kiosks making it one of the first permanent exhibits in the world to use multitouch technology throughout the gallery space. NUI Suite Snowflake will help power all of the multi-touch exhibits. NUI Suite Snowflake is a complete multitouch software solution, with in it's core, a vision tracking engine and additional applications for a wide variety of industries.
The Suite includes amongst others a 3d model viewer, media viewer with support for a wide spectrum of media formats like images and video's, games, pdf viewer, presentation tool etcetra. With NUI's API, software developers can connect their multi-touch applications with NUI's vision tracking package. The supported languages vary from C++, C#, VVVV, Processing, Java, Flash and Air to Flex, or any other programming language that supports TUIO. Other than support for camera based solutions, Snowflake also supports IR overlay and mobile technologies.
