Colorado BioScience Association and Four Area Economic Development Groups Tout Colorado’s Strengths to the Medical Device Industry at MD&M West in Anaheim

Denver, CO, February 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For three days, representatives from the Colorado BioScience Association -- along with four of the state’s economic development entities -- will be showcasing Colorado’s vast medical device sector at the 25th annual Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West Expo. The announcement is made by John Collar, CBSA Executive Director, who says more than 16,000 medical device and product development professionals are attending MD&M West in Anaheim, CA, February 9-12, 2009.

“The MD&M West Expo is the largest event for the medical device industry, and this is our opportunity to showcase Colorado’s flourishing industry,” said Collar. “According to our new state of the industry report, the Denver Metro region ranks 19th among all U.S. metro areas in the size of our medical device sector, and Boulder, Colorado ranks first in the nation in its concentration of employment in the medical device sector among medium-sized metros. The industry in the state is strong and we have a lot to offer to medical device companies who are looking to relocate or expand operations in Colorado.”

The four economic development organizations attending MD&M West Expo with the CBSA include: Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, City of Westminster, Jefferson Economic Council and Adams County Economic Development Corporation.
