Nabbit™ and FOX to Debut New Dollhouse Interactive Channel
Viewers of Dollhouse can interact with the show using their mobile phones.
Eagan, MN, February 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Jump Technologies, creators of Nabbit, announced today the Dollhouse Interactive channel to work in conjunction with FOX’s new series Dollhouse premiering Friday, Feb. 13 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT). Dollhouse reunites Joss Whedon, creator of groundbreaking cult favorites “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Firefly,” with Eliza Dushku.
For Friday’s episode, viewers can use the interactive channel inside Nabbit to answer a trivia question associated with that show. Viewers with the correct answer will be entered into a drawing to win an autographed wardrobe item worn by Dollhouse star Dushku in the season’s second episode titled, “The Target.”
Nabbit will also allow people interested in the show to set up a text reminder to watch Friday’s episode. By texting the word “Dollhouse” to 878787, Nabbit will text viewers on Friday afternoon with a reminder to tune in.
“We are excited to work with FOX on this project,” said John Freund, CEO of Jump Technologies. “We have been doing interactive radio for over a year now. Dollhouse represents our first interactive television event. We look forward to leveraging the Nabbit platform to allow users to interact with TV in many ways in the future.”
When Nabbit users see or hear something that interests them, they simply press the button on their phone associated with the station they are listening to and Nabb the content. For users who don’t have data plans on their phones or for print partners, Nabbit also offers a texting option for Nabbing content.
Nabbed content is saved in the user’s personal Nabbit account so that they can retrieve it when it is convenient for them. Nabbit allows users to purchase music, look up song lyrics, download ringtones, and find concert information. TV partners, like FOX, are putting together special interactive content for their viewers. Advertising that is Nabbed can be Googled or, if the advertiser is a Nabbit affiliate, direct links to special offers and coupons can be found in the users Nabbit account for Nabbed ads.
About Dollhouse
Dushku stars as ECHO, a member of a highly illegal and underground group of individuals (“Actives”) who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Hired by the wealthy, powerful and connected, the Actives don’t just perform their hired roles, they wholly become – with mind, personality and physiology – whomever the client wants or needs them to be. Whether imprinted to be a lover, an assassin, a corporate negotiator or a best friend, the Actives know no other life than the specific engagements they are in at that time. After each engagement, Echo, returns to the mysterious Dollhouse where her thoughts, feelings, experiences and knowledge are erased. Or are they?
